| This Muslim madrassa (school) building was built together with the
tomb adjoining it by the emir Tashtamer in 1382. The emir was exiled to
Jerusalem, ending a successful career. The building's facade is richly
decorated in the typical Mameluke style: a window with a grille opening on
the street, a decorated inscription above it, a geometric interlace around
the inscription, a deep-set entrance, and two stone seats flanking the
entrance.
A particularly beautiful element is the shell-shaped decoration
above the cistern next to the entrance.
